 Hear The Dogs Bark

My story of 12 Precious Paws and their Diamond Antics

I have been bringing my dogs to Diamond Daycare for many years now.  Michele, Tim and Bianca are the best and are so loving with all the dogs.  I wouldn’t trust my furkids with anyone else all day.  They work tirelessly to make sure every dog is cared for in the best possible way.  They are always working to improve the facility.  It’s an absolute gem and so are they. One of their staff, “Bianca” also comes over to look after our fur and feather family when we go away.  Mostly we take the dogs, but sometimes have a break without them.  She is always willing to pop through and feed the birds, fish and cat since she lives so close.

GEORGE – My first boy George visited twice a week 4 years ago as a pup.  He was an extremely active, but thankfully daycare wore him out totally so that his older dog brother and cat friends at home would get a break from him.  Myself included!  Due to a family breakup, George stayed with his dad and sadly no longer came to Diamond day care. .  I really missed having a dog companion in my life so much that I asked Michele and Tim (who were also fosters of a dog Rescue) if they knew of a suitable dog for me to adopt.

TYRA – Within a few minutes I was sent a photo of Tyra.  She had 5 failed adoptions and 3 foster homes (including Michele and Tim fostering) in a short few months.  It seemed no-one wanted her or perhaps she was waiting for the right home.  Incredibly the photo I received showed Tyra playing with George in the foreground, I took this as a sign that we were meant to be together.  I fostered and then adopted her.  She visited two to three times a week at day care as she was quite the fence jumper.  With time, she trusted that I would not leave her and it has been almost 3 years since she first came into my life and I first collected her at Diamond Daycare.  Even for a few months when I was made redundant and had no work for a few months I made sure she received her socialisation at daycare once a week.

BANJO – 18 months ago, when my world changed for the better, Tyra met Banjo and they have been inseparable.  Banjo now goes to daycare on a Wednesday with Tyra and they can’t wait to get to the car and sit nicely all the way there before drop off time.  Banjo has been going to daycare for over 6 months he was very timid  to start with and he has come out of his shell so much more with the confidence building exercises that do with him.  They both come home absolutely exhausted from all the wonderful activities they have been doing.  They eat dinner and then they are pretty much couch potatoes or in bed together.

Our girl Lucy loves attending DogClub! We have been attending for a few years now, and she continues to love every minute. Nothing gets her rounding me up more then when she knows it’s a dog club morning. The team is amazing with the dogs that attend, offering great advice and tips for home too. They have helped our girl to learn self calming and through their association with the onsite trainer we were able to get some very needed 1:1 expert behavioural training. As the team knows, we already had the training basics for any normal pooch down pat, but really needed that little bit extra help to find greater mental enrichment. We highly recommend it!

“My dogs have attended Diamond Daycare for 3 years. I found Michele and her team are very invested in the welfare of all the dogs and the owners in their care.  My Kelpie and Border Collie X both high anxiety puppa’s have benefited by going to daycare, through  supervised socialization with a range of different dogs has made outings less fraught. The team soon got to know the needs of my dogs and myself  and focused on achieving better habits. When they felt that they needed more intense training they  refered me to a trainer within the group. A day at daycare ensures my boys come home both physically and mentally tired, with sandpits, paddling pools, tug ropes and ball games a dogs  play dream. Highly recommend them, as they were recommended to me….best thing I ever did for my dogs.”

“Our two beautiful Great Danes, Cullen and Luna have been attending Diamond Paws for close to two years. We sent them because Luna has anxiety and her reaction to other dogs wasn’t the best and she was hard to control but now she is so much better, We can now take her places without having to worry. They both love going.”

Our first review of Diamond Dog was in 2018 after we had been bringing our kelpie there for a while.  My previous review said “Our pup loves coming to Daycare, they do a wonderful job!”  It’s now April 2019 and nothing has changed except we now bring 2 dogs both kelpies to the centre, and they are so excited to arrive and never want to leave. Tim and Michele do an awesome job, they take great care and I trust them fully with my dogs. They have a great indoor and outdoor facility and plenty of enrichment for the dogs and we are so thankful to be able to bring our dogs here.

Sasha and I attended the very first open day and meet and greet with the staff of the daycare centre in 2017 and some of the pooches she would be spending her days with.   Over 3 years later she is still happily attending twice a week and has many long-term doggy friends. Diamond’ Paws is now a home away from home for Sasha – she can’t wait to get out of the car when we arrive.  She loves Michele and the others as much as they love her, and I have peace of mind knowing she is receiving the interaction with humans and dogs on the days I can’t be with her.

I know she is in a safe and secure environment; she shares meaningful and enjoyable interactive play time with dogs of a similar nature,  but she is also given her rest or chill time if that’s what she wants to do. Diamond Paws has been and will continue to be a huge part of our lives and I can’t thank them enough for the service they provide. With thanks Sharon Pudler and Sasha the Schnauzer
